#SEXYSNIPPETS~9~

Good morning! I'm so glad you stopped by. How is everyone's Sunday so far? That good? Well, it's about to get even better with this week's #SexySnippets. Thanks to the lovely Doris O'Connor for hosting this weekly blog hop so we can all share a snippet of our wips. Excited to share that I've found a home for Diary of A Naughty Nurse! So as I bust my arse getting it done for NNP, I thought I'd share from that story. This is unedited...

I’ve probably entered the realm of slut muffin-hood. My most accurate description of how things went down. But the Cougar Bait cocktails definitely numbed my common sense and loosened my inhibitions. Not to mention that particular mixture of alcohol must’ve planted a seed in my unwitting brain to not only accept the attentions of Jake Miller, AKA the ICU's resident hottie for this month, but I'd allowed him to take me home and do all those deliciously wicked things to my body. There aren’t enough OMGs or GTFOs to explain the earth shattering orgasmic—yes you heard me right, Diary, the best orgasmic night of my life!

That's all you get for this week! Don't forget to check out the other #SexySnippets in this blog hop today from some amazingly talented authors. Link is below.

MAN CANDY FRIDAY~

Happy Friday! It's almost the weekend! My plans include to complete edits for my upcoming release, Chicks Dig Scars. I chose this guy this week because he looks like my hero, Dr. Devon Jameson who has more than his share of scars, inside and out. This book is due April 4th. I can't wait for you all to read about my lovable ghost who has made my hero and heroine his unfinished business!

BLURB

When death steps in...

Committed and compassionate intensive care nurse, Rachel O'Dea will do anything to save her patients. But when she loses a kind and loving man whom she forged a fatherly relationship with, Rachel unravels.

...or so everyone thinks.

The calm and soothing voices Rachel hears and the apparitions she sees are of the deceased man and his late wife as they navigate and persuade her to make important choices in her life, leading her right where she's supposed to be.

Free clinic doctor, Devon Jameson, needs more hands on deck. He can't possibly handle all the medical cases alone. When Rachel walks in, volunteering her services, he knows he has no choice other than to take her on board as she proves her worth when a pediatric trauma is left on his doorstep and there’s no one else to assist. As the two begin working together, their lives intertwine and the attraction intensifies. Scarred deeply by their past and their pain, Rachel and Devon begin a future only angels could predict.

Enjoy your weekend all!

MIDWEEK TEASE~10~

Good morning! I've been busting my butt completing another book and I'm happy to say that Chicks Dig Scars is with my editor and now has an April 4th publication date! **Happy Dance** Now on to this week's tease which so happens comes from my upcoming release.  Thanks to Angelica Dawson who hosts this weekly hump day hop so we can all share our work with you.  I started this scene on Sunday in #SexySnippets so if you want to read the beginning you can go here: http://kathleengrieve.blogspot.com/2017/01/sexy-snippets8.html

“I’m not pregnant!” Rachel insisted. “I just need to…” she shook her head. Ah, fuck. The look on Maria’s face silenced her. The woman was convinced she was knocked up. “Never mind.” Following the directions Maria had given her, Rachel found Devon in his office. The black of his scrubs the same as his mood.

“What the fuck do you want?” he barked.

“Why are you such a hostile asshole?” she asked anger flaring to life. “I haven’t done anything to you. I don’t want anything from you. So what’s your problem?”

“My problem is, sweetheart,” he sneered the endearment while he stood and leaned over his desk splaying his palms on top of the solid oak. “That I want to know exactly how you managed it. No lies. Spill it.”

Confusion defused her anger. “Managed what exactly?”

“Oh, come on, don’t act innocent. You know exactly what I’m talking about.”

Rachel searched his ruggedly handsome face flushed with anger. His sapphire colored eyes hard as the gems they resembled. She shook her head slowly. “No. I. Don’t.” She enunciated each word deliberately, her voice as frigid as his. “Why don’t you sit down like a civilized human being and we can talk about whatever has pissed you off. And while you’re at it, why don’t you spill why Seamus’ body is still at the morgue. He needs to be laid to rest properly.”

Devon flinched as if she’d slapped him; his reaction confirming what his father had told her earlier. So Seamus really was still at the morgue? Somehow, she still half believed she was going crazy by seeing and hearing him. But ghosts must really exist. Anger deflated, she slumped back in the chair opposite Devon, stunned.

Ghosts were real. Seamus was still with her.

For the briefest moment elation filled her. She frowned. That wasn’t how things worked. Right? Wasn’t he supposed to go to the great beyond spending the rest of his existence at peace with Evie? Was he still here because he hadn’t had a proper catholic burial? Or was it really because of Devon? What kind of trouble was the man’s son in?

Rachel glanced at Devon speculatively. Was he his father’s unfinished business? She tried to see him with objectivity. His black hair looked like he’d finger combed the strands with haste, curling along the nape of his nape. His beard still needed a trim in a very bad way in a few more weeks he’d be in Duck Dynasty territory, and his black scrubs were wrinkled as if he’d yanked them on from a pile off the bedroom floor or something. She could only imagine.

He grabbed a file folder off his desk and tossed it her way. “Just how close were you and my father?” he demanded. “How many times did you sleep with him to get what you want?”

SEXY SNIPPETS~8~

Hello everyone! Sorry I've been MIA lately, but been under the gun finishing my manuscript, Chicks Dig Scars, that was under a tight deadline. Happy to say it's in my editor's hot little hands and just waiting on the edits to come back. This week's snippet comes from that story which now has an official release date of April 4, 2017!! This is a blog hop so please stop by and see the other authors participating in this weeks' #SexySnippets! And comments are always appreciated. I'd love to hear what ya'll think!

This week's snippet is cut to try and fit the guidelines but I still went over a bit. Sorry! The ghost of Rachel's dead patient hasn't had a funeral. His body is still in the cold, steel box at the morgue and he demanded that Rachel go down to the clinic where his son is working and talk him into making funeral arrangements. This was a fun scene to write! Enjoy, my lovelies...

“Sorry, no,” Rachel said. “You misunderstand.” She glanced at the woman’s nametag. “Maria, I’m not here for an appointment. I’m, er, a friend of Dr. Jameson’s.” The lie poured off her tongue and she gripped the shoulder strap of her purse and prayed she wouldn’t be sent away.

Maria’s hand stilled and she lifted a brow. “The doctor has no friends.” The clinic’s phone began to ring but she ignored it.

“Maria,” Devon’s harsh voice yelled out. “Answer that damn phone already.”

“I’m busy,” Maria replied sweetly, loud enough to be heard in the back. She glanced at Rachel. A sly smile curved her lips. “Talking to your friend.

“I don’t have any friends,” he said coming around the corner.

“See?” Maria said with a careless shrug going back to her nails once more. “I told you.”

Awesome. Just fucking awesome.

“What the hell are you doing here?” he demanded.

“I… ah,” Rachel cleared her throat. Fuck my life.  “I need to talk to you.” She glanced at Maria. “In private,” she added.

“You knock her up or something, Doc? Cuz there’s only one reason a woman comes in here looking that way. Like she’s going to tell you about the little bun in her oven.”

“What? No!” Rachel and Devon said in unison.

The horror Rachel felt must’ve been written all over her face because Devon scowled and Maria just laughed.

“You get five minutes,” he said harshly and turned on his heal.

Maria motioned with her nail file. “Go through that door, Chica. Turn left and you’ll find the doctor. Good luck,” she said with a wink. “I hope it’s a girl. Another boy with that man’s temper? No bueno.”

MIDWEEK TEASE~9~

Happy Hump Day! MidWeek Tease is hosted each week by the lovely Angelica Dawson. It's time to tease you with a scene from Sex Is The Best Medicine, my novella which will be released on it's own March 29th! My hero has agoraphobia and has been working to stay out in the world longer and longer each time. He's making some nice progress while out on a date with my heroine who is a huge thrill seeker...

As Kate regaled him with tales of the ER, he watched her, memorizing every detail. The candor in her voice, how her expressions changed from serious to amused to mock horror in a matter of seconds as she described the different patients coming and going and their interactions with the medical staff. How her dark brown eyes shone with humor, the curve of her jaw, the small freckle on the top of her left breast close to where her cleavage came together. He knew from the picture she’d sent that it would be another demi bra pushing that particular freckle into his line of sight from under her dark green sequined baby doll blouse. And all he could think about was how he was going to lick his way down, starting with special attention on that one, frustrating lonely freckle.

Ya, he was so screwed.

“Wait,” he said catching a phrase that struck absolute horror within him. “What?”

“A bunch of my friends and I are going base-jumping from the Burro Creek Bridge off of Highway 93 next month. Want to come with us?”

“No fucking way,” he said a bit too loudly then lowered his voice. “Kate. You can’t be serious. That’s too God damn dangerous.”

A frown marred her perfect features. She set her wine glass down and leaned forward. “Of course I’m serious. Base-jumping is a very serious sport. I can assure you that all safety precautions are taken. The people I’m going with are professionals, Grant. Not amateurs. And I need not remind you that I don’t need your permission to go. Just because we slept together one time, doesn’t mean you control me.” Her tone was angry, her dark brown eyes hard. “My parents tried to control me for years, attempting to mold me into what they wanted me to be. I don’t do controlling. Not for you, not for anyone.”

Grant tried to contain the panic rising within his chest. The thought of her jumping off a bridge a few hundred feet off the ground tethered to nothing but a fucking string terrified him, but he had to get a grip on his rising horror. He didn’t want to risk losing her over his irrational fears.

He took a long, slow swallow of his whiskey and allowed the amber liquid to burn his throat and soothe his frayed nerves. There had to be a way to convince her not to go, but he decided now wasn’t the time to fight that particular battle. “You’re right, of course. I’m sorry. I’m just a bit freaked out by what could happen. And I care about you too much to lose you.”

Kate’s features softened. “Ah, Grant. You can’t obsess over the negative aspects of what might never happen. You should come,” she encouraged with a smile. “It might help you get over some of your fears about your parent’s death.”

“No way in hell would you ever catch me jumping off anything,” he said emphatically.

Kate laughed. “Well, it isn’t for everyone,” she agreed.

He placed his hand on her knee just under the hem of her short black skirt. “There are other things I’d like to do with you,” he said, voice low and husky. He traced small circles on her inner thigh. “To you.”

She sucked in a sharp breath and her knees opened a bit wider, allowing him greater access. Her eyes darkened in challenge. “Oh?”

“We can stay for dessert, or.” His hand slid higher, fingering the edge of lace that barred him from what he really wanted to taste.

Their waiter walked by and Kate grabbed his arm, halting him. “Check, please.”
